ABOUT US

Because you have the “write” to unleash your creativity in a safe environment.

Purpose:

The purpose of this club shall be to provide a safe and friendly environment for students to improve as creative writers, and to provide opportunities for publication.

What we do:

We host weekly workshops that begin with new and creative writing exercises to boost creativity. Workshops also include a sharing portion in which members and non-members can share and receive constructive feedback to their personal writing.

  • To ensure that feedback is given in a constructive and respectful manner, club officers will guide and orient each workshop. Check out our "Officers" page to learn more about the club.

We also host monthly campus-wide events that may involve: poetry and short story readings, writing competitions, or special guest speaker panels that include published authors, poets, playwrights, and other writing professionals.

Finally, we regularly announce publishing opportunities and competitions that are going on throughout the nation. This is to help motivate students on our campus to share their talents with a broad audience.

Who can join?

Membership in this club is voluntary and is open to all University of Utah Students, irrespective of race, gender, class, age, nationality, disability, marital status, religion, veteran status, or sexual orientation.
